CAll About Copper Enameling
Brilliance of color and an air of elegance characterizes enameling best.  It began in ancient times and still hold great interest and uses today. It is a process in which to fuse glass to metal to make beautiful art forms. Enameling consists of powdered glass fused to a metal surface. I choose to enamel to copper. There are so many different ways enamel is used today,  some in everyday things we love but don't always understand the full process in which it takes. I start out with a copper form and apply layers and layers of powered glass that melt together to  make beautiful designs when melted. I also use millifiore to place small and delicate floral designs in them. They are placed in a kiln and melted at approximately 1500-1800 degrees. These can be cooled faster then other forms of melting glass.  The back are then cleaned and treated for a long lasting beauty. Then applied to a beautiful matching necklace beaded with glass as well as metal sometimes wooden beads, put together and ready to wear.
